Clay Art

Every kid likes to make a mess. Well why not enroll them in a class where they get to do just that? Clay is a fun and creative way for children to learn how to mold, fold, and create their imaginations into a reality. This class offers a wide variety of projects that allows children to create something so simple, into a masterpiece that will grace their homes with color and beauty. Projects also vary depending on the age of children in the class. Students will work with wet clay with the guidance and direction of the teachers to help create the designated project. Once projects have been molded and kiln fired, to their liking, the students will bring them to life with paint and color. A few projects we work on throughout our session (depending on the number of weeks in the program) include pinch-pots, coil-pots, star bowls, name plaques and one of our favorites, handmade clay animals like fish and monsters! Other modes of creative touches include adding beads to projects such as wind chimes, and peace signs. Don’t worry, we won’t be prompting them to create the famous Venus de Milo or anything like that, but who knows, maybe someday they’ll create something better! Dress to make a mess and bring your imagination!
